Sports

Currently SOPC is offering four Fall sports and four Summer sports, as well as golf, swimming, and basketball, all of which have their own season. An athlete may participate in up to five sports per year in our county. Athletes may overlap the three single sports (golf, swimming, and basketball) with one Fall and one Summer sport each.

All athletes have the ability to participate in all sports. If an athlete is in a wheelchair, that does NOT mean he/she cannot play basketball or participate in track & field. Each sport has individual skills that are “lead up events” so an athlete in a wheelchair can be tested on his/her dribbling skills in basketball and the same athlete can participate in a wheelchair obstacle course for track & field. There are numerous possibilities for participating in varying events. To learn more please check out the available sports in Polk County! The events are listed according to a calendar school year, so Fall Sports will kick off when the new school year begins. General Rules are included with each sport.

Use the links below for more information on each sport.
